Porcelain Crowns in Denham Springs, LA

What Are Porcelain Crowns?

A crown is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens a tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular because they resemble your natural teeth. They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color of your teeth giving you a natural, long lasting beautiful smile.

How We Do It.

Due to modern technology, the crown process can be completed in one appointment. Unlike before, there were multiple appointments, temporary crowns and a mouth full of impressions. We are now able to offer our patients same day crowns. Crown appointments consist of: crown preparation, digital impressions, matching the color of the crown to the teeth surrounding it, to ensure a natural look, the milling process, baking of the tooth and the final step, cementation. Cosmetic enhancement crown process takes multiple appointments. The first appointment consists of pictures and impressions to send to our lab. These crowns are sent to our best labs to ensure the proper shape and cosmetic look our patients strive for. The next appointment will be crown preparation, temporary crowns and full mouth impressions. Once the crowns are sent back to our office, we have our doctors review over the case before the next visit. The final visit consists of removing all temporary crowns and cementing final crowns, a final impression is taken this day to make a night guard to protect the crowns during sleep from grinding. After photos are usually taken at this appointment to show patients the before and after of their new smiles. The same process is repeated for the opposing archif our patients are interested in full mouth crowns for cosmetics. This is a lengthy process but we like to satisfy our patients and include them in the design of their new smile.
